MMHCA 2007 Conference a Success!
The first annual conference of MMHCA was a resounding success
for the 90+ participants that gathered at Tan-Tar-A on Nov. 2-3.
Among the highlights of the conference was the recognition of
Rep. Wayne Cooper as our 'Legislator of the Year". Wayne is seen at
the right receiving his plaque from Marcia Brewer, MMHCA President.
The presentation was joined by Dan Holdinghaus, MMHCA Executive
Director, Susan Hoppenworth, Director of the Midwest Region for the
American Mental Health Counselors Association and Gary Gintner,
President of AMHCA. Dr. Gintner also gave an excellent keynote
address on incorporating aspects of positive mental health into the
therapy process.
We had 18 well received programs presented with a couple
of those shown in the photos at the right.We look forward to
building on the success of this conference in the fall of 2008 so
plan on joining us then.
